Born at Langar Hall in Nottinghamshire in 1935, Mark Huskinson comes from a long line of artists and sculptors. He was educated at Ampleforth College where the art room and cricket pitch took preference to academic studies!

He went on to study at Edinburgh College of Art where, being one of those who was always willing to learn but reluctant to be taught, his stay was brief! Then followed a career in agriculture and engineering until twenty years later he returned to his easel.

Most of Mark Huskinson's work now depicts his piquant sense of humour and a lifetime spent on the sporting and playing fields around the world.

He has had a number of one-man shows and exhibitions in England and in America. He also exhibits at the premier equestrian related events in England during the summer and has established a specialist network of dealers and agents.

There are eight of his line drawings in the Royal Collection. However, the most important collection of his work is held by the Duke of Bedford who has acquired some sixty of his originals over two decades, many of which adorn the loos of Woburn Abbey.

It can be said that what Michael Angelo did for the Cistine Chapel, Mark Huskinson has done for the Loos of Britain!
